The Machame route is one of the most beautiful routes to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro. The climb begins in the lush rainforest and follows a path that offers occasional views of Mt Meru, Shira Ridge as well the main summit of Mt Kilimanjaro – Kibo. The Machame route contains more steep passages and higher altitudes than the Marangu and the Rongai route and is slightly more demanding.

You will enjoy a 6 day mount Kilimanjaro Climb via machama route.
Here is a day by day tour breakdown.

Day 1: MACHAME GATE TO MACHAME HUT CAMP
Depart the park gate and walk through the rain forest on a winding trail up a ridge. At lower elevations the trail can be muddy and slippery. Gaiters and trekking poles are a good idea here. We continue a short distance until we reach the Machame Camp.

DAY 2: MACHAME CAMP TO SHIRA CAMP
After breakfast we leave the glades of the rain forest and continue on an ascending path, crossing the valley along a steep rocky ridge. The route now turns west onto a river gorge until we arrive at the Shira campsite.

DAY 3: SHIRA CAMP TO LAVA TOWER TO BARRANCO VALLEY.
Today we walk on a gentle ascent and panoramic views. We traverse the southwest side of Kilimanjaro, passing underneath the Lava Tower and the final section of the Western Breach and after hot lunch the bottom of the Lava Tower (4,600 m.) we descend to the bottom of the

DAY 4: BARRANCO CAMP TO BARAFU CAMP
After breakfast, we leave Barranco and continue on a steep ridge up the Barranco Wall (elev 4250m/13,900ft), through the Karanga Valley (elev 4050m/13,250ft) to the junction which connects with the Mweka Trail. We continue up to the Barafu Camp. You have completed the South Circuit, which offers views of the summit from many different angles. Here we make camp with views of the summit in the distance.

DAY 5: BARAFU CAMP TO SUMMIT, DOWN TO MWEKA CAMP
Continue our way to the summit between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. This is the most mentally and physically challenging portion of the trek. At Stella Point you will stop for a short rest and will be rewarded with the most magnificent sunrise you are ever likely to see. Faster hikers may view the sunrise from the summit.

Northern Tanzania is perhaps Africa’s greatest safari region, an untamed land where indelible scenes defy the eyes. It revels in diversity, each park providing a different ecosystem and an unforgettable cast of wildlife. Over six days you’ll visit four different parks, immersing yourself in a natural world that goes beyond anything you might have seen in documentaries. Elephants wander past ancient acacia trees in Tarangire, black rhinos plod through the savannah of Ngorongoro, and big cats stalk prey on the endless plains of the Serengeti. Every game drive is different, but it always combines classic, sought after scenes with personal moments and surprise. Everybody remembers the lion that lounged by your safari truck. But nobody else saw the cute interaction between two hippos beside the lake. These six days offer a complete safari package. It’s a thrilling adventure, but one that’s packed full of charm and serene moments.

Day 1-  From Arusha proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive with picnic lunches. Stretching for 50 km along the base of the rusty-gold 600-meter high Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem and flock of birds. Overnight Manyara wildlife lodge

Day 2 - After breakfast, proceed to Serengeti National Park for a game drive with picnic lunches, Serengeti has the highest concentration of large mammals on this planet and its famous known for its 2,500 lions the largest concentration found anywhere. The park also has over 518 identified bird species. Dinner and overnight at Serena lodge

Day 3 - Early morning game drives Serengeti National Park, back for breakfast and relaxes. Later again proceed for a full day game drive with picnic lunches enjoying the varieties of flora and fauna all around the plain. Dinner and overnight at Serena lodge.

Day 4 - Early morning games drive Serengeti National Park, back for breakfast and relax. Later again proceed for a full day game drive with picnic lunches. Dinner and overnight at Serena lodge

Day 5 - After early breakfast, proceed for a full day Crater tour with picnic lunches at Ngorongoro Crater. It is a large, unbroken, un-flooded caldera, formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed some three million years ago. The Ngorongoro crater sinks to a depth of 610 meters, with a base area covering 260 square kilometers. The height of the original volcano must have ranged between 4,500 to 5,800 meters high. Apart from the main caldera, Ngorongoro also has two other volcanic craters: Olmoti and Empakai, the former famous for its stunning waterfalls, and the latter holding a deep lake and lush, green walls. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire safari lodge

Day 6 - After early breakfast, proceed for a full day game drive at Tarangire National Park with picnic lunches. The fierce sun sucks the moisture from the landscape, baking the earth a dusty red, the withered grass as brittle as straw. The Tarangire River has shriveled to a shadow of its wet season self. But it is choked with wildlife. Thirsty nomads have wandered hundreds of parched kilometers knowing that here, always, there is water; later continue back to Arusha in the evening.
